After designing my characters and getting feedback in tutorials on the character design it came to my attention that the sock monsters in my story steal socks to keep their single foot warm but the design of the characters initially was quite amphibious and they would also have a need for other items such as gloves, so I decided to change their design and have them entirely covered in fur excluding their one foot which is bare and that is why they have the need to steal individual socks and create odd socks.
