After writing my Final Major Project's proposal over the summer break I had
more time to think over my initial idea and produce work towards it and whilst
doing so found that the proposed project did not engage or excite me as much as
it should for Final Major Project.
I spent a number of weeks volunteering in a primary school (as work
experience towards my PGCE application) and found myself in a position to teach
a class about Illustration and its importance, specifically in children's
books. I shared and read with the class my children's book I made in my
self-publishing module, they studied it and created illustrations of their own
using their favourite line from the poem. I found using my own work as a
teaching resource very rewarding and ideas soon started to generate about
creating my own children's book to use as a teaching resource.
